The Port of Miami Tunnel was constructed to enhance access to and from the Port of Miami. Consisting of twin tubes, each 3,900 feet long and 41 feet in diameter, and reaching a depth of 120 feet below the water, this tunnel project has been instrumental in improving transportation efficiency. By diverting 80 percent of all cargo trucks away from the Downtown Miami area, it stands as the first of its kind in South Florida and has achieved remarkable success.
