Installing Key Bridge at University of Miami Centennial Village, Phase Two

As the University of Miami continues its transformation of student housing through Centennial Village Phase Two, George’s Welding unlocked a new level of progress by fabricating and installing the bridge connecting two of the new residence towers.

The pedestrian bridge, located on the seventh floor, links Buildings 2A and 2E, an architectural feature that distinguishes this phase of the project. Standing as a striking connection between the towers near the Frost School of Music, the bridge not only enhances the design, but also provides functional connectivity for residents.

“This bridge represents both a technical challenge and an opportunity to contribute a key element to Centennial Village,” said Jorge Sr. “We’re proud to see our work take shape and become a central feature of the new residential experience.”

Phase Two of Centennial Village will feature three new residence halls with a total of 1,149 beds across 660 rooms, emphasizing shared spaces, study areas, lounges, and faculty apartments. The design supports the University’s commitment to enhancing the First-Year Experience, combining modern residential amenities with functional connectivity across the campus.

George’s Welding’s expertise in steel fabrication and installation was critical to completing the bridge safely and efficiently, ensuring the project remains on track for its scheduled opening.

As construction continues, the bridge stands as a symbol, connecting not only towers but also the students who will call Centennial Village home.
